The holiday season at Villa Oasis

Recovery Does Not Need to Wait Until January

Private, medically supervised detox and residential treatment on a six-resident estate in Rancho Santa Fe. Your family can still share the holidays with you here.

The holidays, together

You Do Not Have to Be Apart This Season

Many families postpone treatment because they do not want to be apart during the holidays. At Villa Oasis, they do not have to be.

In addition to our regular weekend visiting hours, we offer extended family visits throughout the holiday season. Because we care for six residents or fewer, every visit is arranged individually and privately, so your time together remains your own.

Why the timing matters this year

Two Reasons to Begin Before January 1

Whether you are paying privately or using insurance, the calendar can make a meaningful difference in what treatment costs.

Paying privately

Treatment May Be Tax Deductible

The IRS generally treats inpatient treatment for alcohol and drug addiction as a deductible medical expense, including meals and lodging at the treatment center.

  • For families who itemize, qualifying medical expenses above 7.5% of adjusted gross income may be deductible.
  • Medical expenses generally count toward the year they are paid, so payment made in December applies to this tax year.
  • Health savings account funds can generally be used for qualified medical care.
  • Some flexible spending account balances must be used before the plan year ends.

Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances. Please confirm with your tax professional before making any decisions based on this information. Villa Oasis does not provide tax or legal advice.

Your Benefits Reset on January 1

Most health plans reset deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums on January 1.

  • If you have already met some or all of your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum this year, care received in December may cost considerably less than the same care in January.
  • Treatment is billed by date of service, so any days of care in the new year apply to the new plan year.
  • Plan years and out-of-network benefits vary, so we review your year-to-date deductible and out-of-pocket status as part of a free, confidential benefits check, usually completed the same day.

Our benefits check typically confirms your plan year and year-to-date deductible and out-of-pocket status, but benefits vary by plan. Please confirm the details directly with your insurance company. A benefits check is not a guarantee of coverage or payment.
