OUR PROGRAMS

At Villa Oasis, we understand that there are many paths to achieving sustainable recovery, and we support our clients in choosing the best path for themselves.

Our goal is to empower residents to take charge of their lives and behaviors by exercising choice and experiencing their own agency, as well as showing each person their value and ability to give back to the world. The methods that we offer can show residents that there really aren’t any insurmountable obstacles between them and their recovery, or between them and a good, sustained, and sober life afterward.

OUR METHODS

Our treatments are linked to local 12-step communities, encouraging our residents to maintain sobriety and support each other through addiction recovery.

Of the evidence-based therapies offered in our programs, acceptance commitment therapy aims to encourage acceptance of one’s circumstances in addiction recovery.

Another evidenced-based therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy is used to change a person’s way of thinking to get a better and deeper understanding of their behaviors.

Dialectical behavior therapy is an evidence-based therapy all about accepting opposing viewpoints within one’s self. DBT is all about staying in the moment to bring about change.

A little self-confidence can go a long way, and that’s the goal of equine therapy. By having experiential moments with horses, residents can learn to regulate their emotions and deepen their responsibility.

Expressive art therapy is an experiential form of therapy geared toward the process of self-discovery. Therapists will work with patients to create different forms of expressive art.

Addiction recovery in the individual works best when the person recovering can come home to a supportive family. Family systems therapy aims to provide those going through addiction treatment with the support they need.

Learn More

Mindfulness is about trying to stay in the present moment. Our mindfulness practices include meditation and yoga to try and center individuals as they reflect on their recovery.

One of the hallmarks of effective individual therapy is motivational interviewing, which combines empathetic listening and the enhancement of a person’s motivation to change. We use motivational interviewing to empower our residents in their recovery process.
Narrative exposure therapy is all about reframing the story that a person in recovery tells about their own life. The idea behind it is that one’s own story can influence their life’s direction.
This form of therapy is about focusing on the future instead of the problems of the past. We use solution focused therapy to separate our residents from their past substance use problems.

Everyone’s trauma is different, so here at Villa Oasis, we tailor our programs to the individual. The therapies we offer accept each person’s different triggers, needs, and history.

Our practice incorporates a multi-disciplinary approach that recognizes the unique and complex background of each resident which creates an effective and efficient treatment that identifies the problems at their roots and lays the foundation for long-lasting recovery.

DUAL DIAGNOSIS

Our methods equip us to recognize dual diagnoses, also known as co-occurring disorders.

Dual diagnosis treatment ensues an individual gets the best chance at recovery when an addiction coincides with another mental health issue like:

This can make recovery complex, given that both issues must be treated conjointly to ensure a balanced and successful recovery. It is much more effective to recognize the presence of a dual diagnosis rather than assuming the addiction doesn’t coincide with other conditions.
